But there also was a time when no director wanted to take him in his movies due to the flops that he had been giving. The movies that did not work in his favour included Saat Hindustani (1969), Sanjog (1972), Pyar Ki Kahani (1971), Raaste Kaa Patthar (1972), Jaban (1972), Ek Nazar (1972), Bansi Birju (1972), Bandhe Haath (1973) and others. This was the period in his life when he reportedly decided to say goodbye to Bollywood forever. Due to the disappointment that he had been getting in his career, he decided to leave Mumbai forever, some reports claim. But MIRACLES do exist.
Later, a veteran Bollywood actor helped bring Amitabh Bachchan’s career back on track and he was none other than Manoj Kumar. He decided to give him a chance and offered Amitabh Bachchan an opportunity to work with him. He collaborated with him in a movie named Roti Kapada Aur Makaan (1974). And then, guess what, it proved to be a blockbuster in the industry. According to the reports, this was the first-ever Blockbuster movie of Amitabh Bachchan’s career.
Later, Manoj Kumar said in an interview, “Even when people were taunting Amitabh for his failures, I had full faith in him that he would become a big star one day.” Eventually, this statement of Manoj Kumar came true and Amitabh Bachchan is now known as the megastar of the industry and has been ruling the entertainment world for over 5 decades.
Even at the age of 80, Amitabh Bachchan is still active in the Hindi entertainment industry. The last few movies in which he was seen include Runway 34, Brahmāstra: Part One- Shiva and Goodbye.

Amitabh Bachchan had tears in his eyes during the final episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15. In a promotional video, the Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) host and veteran actor was teary-eyed while wrapping up the season. The video left many of his fans emotional as Amitabh was likely referring to the end of the current season that many mistook for his retirement from the show. He was trending on X on Saturday night in the last episode.
Netizens have reacted with their emotions poured massively.
“Main Amitabh Bachchan iss daur ke liye, iss manch se akhri baar kehne jaa raha hu, shubraatri (For the last time I am bidding you all goodbye from this show, goodnight),” Amitabh added. In the end, he was left in tears.
