Boeing opens a Development facility in Bengaluru (India)

Boeing India to open a 43 acre complex located at Aerospace Park in Devanahalli, near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. Built with Rs 1600 crore investment, this will be the largest site for Boeing outside the United States. The Boeing India has set a Rs 10,000 crore per yearly target for increasing sourcing from India, from the current Rs 8000 crore.

Earlier this year, Boeing had announced a $100 million investment in infrastructure and programs to train pilots in India, which came in on the heels of Air India signing firm orders of over 200 jets from Boeing, that included 20 787 Dreamliners, 10 777Xs, and 190 737 MAX narrowbody aircraft.
