This is happening due to a dropping TRP of the show, even after including Sunil Grover to the show. Now the episodes have even more artists than ever, but still the audiences are not liking the content.
Standup comedian Sunil Pal expressed happiness about Kapil’s show ending its run on Netflix. He wrote on Instagram and shared a video saying, “Bahut dukh ho raha hai. I am feeling sad that The Great India Kapil Show is ending. I want to tell Kapil, achcha hai apka show band ho raha hai.
You are not an OTT artist. Aap TV ke ghar ghar ke artist ho. You are loved by all. I very worried when it was announced that Kapil is doing an OTT show because they have vulgar, double-meaning content. They show nudity. Wahan ka hero wohi hota hai jo erotic hota hai. Netflix doesn’t want talented people, they need content which has abuses.
Moreover now, this show has been showing Sunil Grover and CHUMBAK MITTAL, and he comes and shows opening a small alcohol bottle and start drinking. Even it that is not alcohol, but the way its shown, looks like Netflix has allowed a bar to open on the show. Sunil also comes with some snacks with that drink.
You took a wrong step by going there but it’s okay. We all still love you. Please come back to TV. I also appeal to other TGIKS stars like Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek to not appear much in other shows. It doesn’t look good if you are seen everywhere. Please dhyan dijiye. As an audience, I’ll be happy if the show comes back on TV.”
He further urged Kapil to hire better writers to write jokes and gags, “Please keep good writers. Aapke saare writers nalle hain. They boast outside about writing for your show but they are nalle. No one knows how to write, kick them out. Hire good people. I am happy your show is ending on Netflix. That platform doesn’t deserve you. You are a big artist.”
Kapil Sharma’s OTT debut, The Great Indian Kapil Show, ended abruptly on Thursday as Archana Puran Singh announced the wrap of the shooting of the first season. “Season wrap,” Archana Puran Singh said in an Instagram story on Thursday, which shocked and disappointed Kapil Sharma’s fans. The Great Indian Kapil Show premiered on Netflix on March 30 but failed to impress the viewers, with its numbers dwindling with every episode.
After her Instagram story sparked noise, Archana confirmed about the end of shooting for The Great Indian Kapil Show. “Yes, we have wrapped up the shoot of season one of TGIKS; we shot the last episode of the season yesterday,” she said while speaking to Pinkvilla. “It was great fun and celebration on the sets. The journey so far on the show has been quite amazing. It was a delightful journey, and we had some amazing times on the sets,” she added.
The Great Indian Kapil Show was hyped for months before the first episode aired on March 30, with Ranbir Kapoor and his mother, Neetu Kapoor, as guests on the show. Although the first episode did fine in terms of numbers, the fans were not impressed with the quality of the content.
Great Indian Kapil Show: Will Season 2 come?
While there is no official confirmation on the second season of Great Indian Kapil Show, comedian Kiku Sharda revealed that the shooting has stopped “temporarily” and the show will return for another season.
“We have done 13 episodes, and the second season will come out soon. We just wrapped up the first season. It was always meant to be like this. We have already planned the next season, and it will come out soon. There won’t be a huge gap,” Kiku Sharda tells News18.
